President Elect Andrea Gunner inducted three new members into our club:
Stephanie Amiotte, Kimberly Stockinger and Nicole Anderson. We are excited about
the enthusiasm and ideas these three women will bring to our club. Welcome! We
have three other new members that were absent for the meeting and we will
schedule a time for their induction. Those members are Julene Edwards, Megan
Dowling and Victoria T Ho-Nguyen. We look forward to seeing you ladies at our
next meeting.
Lt. Governor Lyle Terveen recognized our past officers who are leaving office
this year. They are: Kathy Caldwell, president; Wanda Promes, vice president;
Bill Zortman and Chad Zortman, board members. Bill Z. will remain on the board
as co-secretary and Kathy Caldwell will remain on the board as past president.
Lt. Governor Terveen inducted the following new officers for our club for
2009/10:
Lisa Carlson - president
Andrea Gunner - president elect
Wanda Promes - vice president
Mike Tolzin - treasurer
Bill Zortman and Carla Cooey - co-secretaries
Bill Gassen, Kimberly Stockinger and Nicole Anderson, Tracy Vik and Jack Stengel
- board members
Lisa Carlson recognized Kathy Caldwell for her past year of service as president
of our club by presenting her with a corsage. Kathy did a great job leading our
club for the past year and we appreciate her hard work and dedication to the
club. Kathy thanked the members for a great year. She emphasized that we were
able to serve people in the community that might otherwise fall through the
cracks and talked about the great friendships she has made in the club. She
spoke about her confidence in the new leadership of Lisa Carlson. Lisa Carlson
spoke about her excitement for the future of the club.
Mike Tolzin reminded members that we have several scholarships available to new
members.
Lisa Carlson reminded everyone about the club social event tonight at Tre.
Appetizers will be provided.
Tracy Vik will be hosting a bean bag toss tournament at her home in Canton on
Sunday October 4 beginning at 2:00 p.m. This will be a fundraising/social event
for our club. The cost of entry for the tournament will be $10 per person. There
will be an "amaizing" trophy for the winning two-person team! Members are asked
to bring a corn dish to share. We'll ask Tracy to send out some of her corny
dish ideas! Drinks will be provided. This should be a fun event and we hope
everyone will attend. (Note -- the Vikings and Packers do not play until Monday
night!)
The board meets next on October 6 at the IPC building. Lisa asks that all
committee chairs attempt to be in attendance to make plans for the rest of the
year. The board meets the first Tuesday of each month at the IPC building.
Our next regular club meeting will be Tuesday October 13. Regular club meetings
are always the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at the Original Pancake
House on 41st Street. We missed those of you who missed today's meeting. We hope
to see you on the 13th.
